HANDOVER OF COMPLETED BUILDINGS AT ST ALBERT'S SEMINARY

History was again made on the 9th of October 2014 when 5 newly completed buildings were handed over to the Archbishop of the Metropolitan See of Lagos by Parishes and the Knights of St John International. The newly completed buildings include: A Block of 2 Classrooms funded by the Knights of St John International Lagos; An Administrative Block built by St Anthony's Catholic Church Gbaja, Lagos; The Rector's House built by St Mary's Catholic Church Isolo, Lagos; The Library Building built by the Church of Transfiguration, Victoria Garden City, Lagos and a Hostel built by the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos. The event which took place at the Seminary Site at Idowu-Ofonron in the Owode-Obafemi Local Government Area of Ogun State had in attendance, His Grace Most ReHistory was again made on the 9th of October 2014, when five newly completed buildings were handed over by Parishes and an Organisation to the Metropolitan Archsbishop of the See of Lagos, Most Revd. Alfred Adewale Martins. The newly completed buildings include: A Block of 2 Classrooms funded by the Knights of St John International Lagos; An Administrative Block built by St Anthony's Catholic Church Gbaja, Lagos; The Rector's House built by St Mary's Catholic Church Isolo, Lagos; The Library Building built by the Church of Transfiguration, Victoria Garden City, Lagos and a Hostel built by the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos. The event which took place at the Seminary Site at Idowu-Ofonron in the Owode-Obafemi Local Government Area of Ogun State had in attendance, His Grace Most Revd. Alfred Adewale Martins, the Project Director, Very Revd. Fr. Julius Olaitan, the Registrar of the new Seminary, Very Revd. Fr. Emmanuel Lewis, Very Revd. Msgr Bernard Okodua, Priests and Religious from the Parishes handing over the buildings, Members of the Knights of St John International and many Lay Faithfuls. 

The Project Director Welcomed everyone and introduced the team who had worked very hard to deliver the projects including the Architect, Otunba Tomi Asenuga, The Structural Engineer and Supervisor, Engr (Sir) Dr. Samuel Ilugbekhai KSM (the President Nigeria Institution of Structural Engineers), Sir Clement Iwuchukwu KCSS, Chairman of the Awareness and Fund Raising Committee and the members and Grp Capt. P. Ugbana, The Chairman of the Regional Awareness and Fund Raising Committee.

After the handover ceremony, a tour of the remaining ongoing projects at the site was also undertaken by the Archbishop and those present led by the Project Director.

The Archbishop in his response thanked the Priests, Parishes and the Knights on behalf of the Bishops of the Region comprising the Provinces of Benin-City, Ibadan and Lagos Archdioceses, promising that the structures will be put to judicious use and asking the Lord to bless them more abundantly. The Project Director also craved the indulgence of the Archbishop to ask the donors to further help the young institution by equiping the buildings which they gladly accepted.
