The End
By Rev. Fr. PaulMary Taiwo Otukpe

In the first reading, Daniel interpreted the King’s dream, which foretold the destruction of all known world powers and the establishment of a new one according to God’s plans. The gospel reading shows us Jesus predicting the end of the Jerusalem Temple. In both cases, what was foretold was the end of an era, and start of another. The lesson there is that we must never see anything on earth as eternal but transitory. All worldly powers and possessions will pass away; stay with God whose history is endless. Prayer: My good God, teach me to know that things have their end that I may follow you who are without beginning or end. Amen.
