Unconditional Love
By Rev. Fr. Francis Babatunde

There have been several debates on whether we are the ones who seek God or vice-versa. But from daily experiences and struggle with sin it is obvious that God is always running after us, seeking to reconcile us with himself (Isaiah 1:18). This can be seen as a divine pursuit stimulated by love.  Rev. 3:20 reveals how God keeps knocking at our door. Isaiah presents us with the kind of ungrateful attitude we extend to God in place of appreciation (5:1-14). In fact this is a great proof of God’s unique, perfect and unconditional love. He does not love because of what we have done or may claim to have, because his love is unconditional. God is always willing to forgive us. He does not want us to be lost. Despite our waywardness, he wants us to return to him during this season of advent and be reconciled.

Prayer: God of mercies, thank you for your love and care. Give us the grace never to lose sight of this love. Amen
