TRANSITION – LATE VERY REV. FR. (COL.) MICHAEL ADEBAYO (RTD)

It is with a heavy heart but with strong faith in Christ and hope in the resurrection of the body that we announce the death of our dear brother and priest: Rev. Fr. (Col.) Michael Adebayo, (Rtd.) who died today, Tuesday 14th July, 2020.

The Late Fr. Adebayo was a priest of the Archdiocese of Lagos, ordained on 5th December, 1981. He served in several parishes in the Archdiocese until he joined the Nigerian Army as a Chaplain. He took part in many military missions including United Nations Peace-keeping Missions. He retired as a Colonel in the Army after which he was resident at St. Margaret Parish, Olodi. He was transferred to St. Agnes Parish, Maryland where he was a Resident Priest until his death today.

Funeral arrangements would be communicated later.

Meanwhile let us all offer Masses for the repose of his soul and the consolation of all who mourn. Let us remember, in particular his mother and siblings including Very Rev. Fr. Raphael Adebayo in our prayers at this time. All priests are particularly reminded of their obligation to celebrate Masses for his repose.

May God grant him eternal rest and a place of happiness, light and peace among the saints.

(Signed)
