All year round, the Justice, Development and Peace Centre, Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos responds to myriad issues affecting indigent and vulnerable persons within the Archdiocese. These issues range from human rights violations, irregular migration, human trafficking to financial and technical support to empower persons in need. The JDPC Lagos is always involved in observing elections, urging government towards fiscal transparency, budget monitoring and good governance. We also engage in campaign against gender based violence. We are running a project focused on Pediatric HIV.
A total of 1,399 households were supported with food items at the peak of the pandemic. We were able to secure the release of 58 inmates from the Kirikiri Medium Correctional Facility and provided them with financial assistance, and over 500 inmates were supported with food items in the Ikoyi Correctional Facility. To mention but a few!!!
The many interventions of the JDPC is only possible due to your magnanimity and donations. It is for these reasons and more that we appeal for your generous support come Sunday, 21st March 2021.
As the JDPC Lenten Campaign Collection is taken up in all parishes this Sunday, we appeal to us Msgri, Very Rev. Frs and Rev. Frs, that we lend our voices to this noble cause so that our beloved parishioners can assist the commission to continue to carry out its mandate.
Please Frs., Kindly pay in the proceeds of the JDPC Lenten Campaign Collection to Archdiocese of Lagos, Union Bank - 0000550113 before the end of the month (March).
May the Good Lord continue to bless you all and meet you at the points of your need. Amen!
Onwards to God's Kingdom, through Justice and Peace!!!
